If you are thinking about installing a solar pergola at your home, plot, country property or terrace, you surely have many doubts. You are not the only one. At A Todo Sol we get dozens of questions every week from people who, like you, are looking for an efficient, legal and financeable way to produce their own energy. In this article we have gathered the most frequent questions about solar pergolas in Spain. If you are considering taking the step, this is for you.

Where can a solar pergola be installed?

You can install a solar pergola on:

  • Single-family homes
  • Gardens and patios
  • Terraces and rooftops
  • Plots, farms or rural land
  • Mobile homes, caravans or prefab houses
  • Isolated farmsteads with no grid connection

In every case, the structure adapts to the available space and the consumption demand.

Tip: even if you have not yet built your home, it is possible to install the pergola in advance to start producing energy right away.

Can a solar pergola be installed on rural land?

Yes, it can be installed and it can also be financed. Although not all subsidies are available on non-urban land, that does not stop you from having a legalised, working solar self-consumption installation.

What if I have not built my house yet?

No problem. In fact, some clients install the pergola first to power the building site, charge tools, or even cover their caravan while building. The installation is legal as long as you meet the corresponding requirements and permits, and we handle all of it.

How many solar panels do I need for my case?

It depends on use. As a reference:

  • To cover two cars, 10–12 panels are typically installed
  • For an average home, between 6 and 14 panels, depending on consumption and batteries
  • For off-grid systems, storage capacity is also calculated

We do a personalised study for each client.

Are the panels owned or rented?

They are 100% yours from day one. We do not work with rental models. You can finance them if you need to, but you always own them.

Do you offer financing? Are there subsidies?

Yes. We offer:

  • Financing with no down payment, up to 240 months
  • Up to 12 months interest-free
  • Early cancellation at no cost
  • Decision in minutes, no paperwork

About subsidies:

  • We process every one that applies to your case
  • Depending on the region, they can cover up to 100% of the installation cost
  • Extra benefits in the Valencian Community
  • If they do not apply, you still have equally favourable financing options

Who handles the permits and legalisation?

We do. At A Todo Sol we handle:

  • Responsible declaration or works licence
  • Legalisation of the installation with the Industry department
  • Self-consumption registration with the regional authority
  • Subsidies that apply to your case

You take care of nothing. We make sure everything is in order.

Important: if you already have an installation that was not legalised, we can also help you regularise it.

And what if I want batteries or no grid injection?

Totally possible. You can choose:

  • Self-consumption with grid injection
  • Self-consumption without injection ("zero injection" mode)
  • Installation with batteries (ideal for off-grid or self-sufficiency)
  • Hybrid systems: battery during the day, grid at night

The system is designed around your priorities: savings, independence, stability...

What happens with hail, strong winds or snow?

The solar panels we use have:

  • IEC61215 certification against hail impacts of up to 25 mm at 83 km/h
  • Anti-hail warranty: if a panel breaks, we replace it at no cost
  • Structural calculation according to local wind requirements (regional regulations)

Even in areas like Teruel, we design reinforced pergolas for snow or extreme weather.

Can I install a solar pergola if I live in a top-floor flat or on a terrace?

Yes. The structures adapt to flat roofs, terraces, sunrooms and rooftops. It is common in urban homes without a sloped roof.

What if the company that installed my pergola has closed and never legalised anything?

We help you legalise the existing installation, whenever possible. We review the design, the components and we handle everything that needs to be filed with Industry and the local council. Get in touch for a free assessment.

How can I find out how much my solar pergola will cost?

Every case is different: surface area, orientation, number of panels, whether it includes batteries, whether it is on rural or urban land...

The best thing is to request your personalised quote. We give it to you in minutes and with no commitment.

What if I have a previous rooftop installation and want to expand it with a pergola?

We do combined installations. We add up the total power and redesign your system so everything works in an integrated and efficient way.
